Icy Temperatures & Snow In Turkiye
After several days of warmer weather, Turkiye once again is coping with cold wintry weather with temperatures as low as 14 degrees and heavy snowfall in much of the country.

After several days of warmer weather, Turkiye once again is coping with cold wintry weather with temperatures as low as 14 degrees and heavy snowfall in much of the country.

The cold weather swept in from the Balkans from the Thrace and dropped snow onto the entire Marmara ant the other regions of Turkiye and officials closed the Cannakale Strait to transit vessels due to the heavy snowfall.

While snow was expected in the central and western parts of the country, temperatures fell as low as 10 degrees centigrade in the northwestern and western parts of the country with heavy rain and snow predicted in the coastal parts of the Aegean.

Temperatures in Istanbul fell below freezing on Tuesday night and snowfall was expected to continue today in many parts of the country before gradually ending by Thursday.

The cold weather is expected to continue until Sunday before rising again next week.
