More Civilians Killed In Afghan Offensive
Three more Afghan civilians have been killed in the NATO assault on Afghanistan. These latest deaths follow the mistaken missile strikes on a house that killed 12 civilians - half of them children.

Three more Afghan civilians have been killed in the NATO assault on Afghanistan. These latest deaths follow the mistaken missile strikes on a house Sunday that killed 12 civilians, half of them children.

In two of the recent incidents confirmed by NATO, Afghan men are said to have approached NATO forces and ignored shouts and hand signals to stop, before they were shot and killed.

In the third incident, two Afghan men were caught in the crossfire between insurgents and NATO forces.

Both were wounded and one died from his injuries.

As for Sunday's mistaken attack, officials say two errant U-S missiles struck a house on the outskirts of Marjah.

Afghan officials said three Taliban fighters were in the house at the time of the attack.

Top U-S military official, Admiral Mike Mullen, says the civilian deaths cannot stop NATO's mission to overtake the Taliban.

"That effort in particular in Afghanistan is focused on Al Qaeda, and it's the regional peace, it's the Afghanistan-Pakistan peace that were focused on in terms of, some 3000 American that were killed by Al Qaeda and there leadership still reside right there", said
Mike Mullen, U.S. Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Though NATO has only confirmed 15 civilian deaths, an Afghan human rights group says they've counted 19 civilians killed since the beginning of the operation.
